How do entry fee payments work?▼
When participants join your pool, they pay their entry fee securely through our payment system. The money is held safely until the tournament ends, then automatically distributed to winners based on your payout structure (default: 70% / 20% / 10% for 1st / 2nd / 3rd place).
Is my money safe?▼
Yes. All payments are processed through bank-level secure payment infrastructure. Entry fees are held in escrow until the tournament concludes, then distributed automatically. We never touch your funds directly.
Can I really use it for free?▼
Yes! The Free tier supports up to 5 participants with basic pool features. Perfect for small friend groups. No credit card required to start. You only pay if you need automated payments, live scoring, and automatic payouts for larger pools (6+ players).
Can I set up a pool via WhatsApp?▼
Yes! Our AI assistant on WhatsApp can set up your entire pool in under 2 minutes via simple chat. Just message us your tournament, entry fee, and format — we'll handle the rest. Perfect for commissioners on-the-go. You can also use the traditional web interface if you prefer.
What tournaments can I use this for?▼

How does live scoring work?▼
During tournaments, the leaderboard automatically updates with real-time scores from the PGA Tour. Your participants can watch rankings change as golfers complete each round. No manual score entry required.
What if the tournament gets canceled?▼
If a tournament is canceled or postponed, all entry fees are automatically refunded to participants. You won't be charged for the pool, and everyone gets their money back.
Do I need to provide a credit card for the free tier?▼
No. The Free tier (0-5 participants) requires zero payment information. You can create and run small pools completely free with no credit card needed.
How is this different from other golf pool platforms?▼
Most golf pool software only provides scoring tools - you still have to collect entry fees and pay winners manually via Venmo. RunPools is a complete golf pool manager that automates the entire process: entry fee collection, live PGA scoring, and instant winner payouts. Save 8+ hours per tournament.
Can I customize the payout structure?▼
Yes. The default is 70% / 20% / 10% for top 3 finishers, but commissioners can customize payout percentages when creating the pool. Winner-take-all and other structures are supported.
